Next in our "Meet the Team" series, we bring you potentially the most hilarious guy in the office. Actually, I take that back. Next we bring you, UNDENIABLY, the most hilarious guy in the office. Meet Chris…
1. What is your role at Pacesetter Homes?
I count stuff. Actually, I used to count stuff - now I fix stuff. My position as an Estimator has evolved or de-evolved into more of a fixer of everything role. A not-so-private detective in search of answers for the betterment of Pacesetterkind and those we serve. But I do still count stuff from time to time… mmm numbers. One Pacesetter home ah ah ah! Two, two Pacesetter homes.
2. What lead you to your current position?
Mostly bread crumbs. Bread crumbs and my innate need to follow Mike wherever he goes. I was a Site Supervisor for Pacesetter many moons ago when the rivers ran free and the daisies were plentiful. But then on a dark and misty day, the great crumbling came and I was forced to leave this wonderful company. I spent years in great despair pining for the once glorious days. I was at my lowest of lows. But then, a great awakening: a faint voice heard in the distance… it was Mike! Beckoning me forth, he said unto me, “Chris, come hither and once again join the Pacesetter ranks”. Without hesitation, I answered the call and have not looked back. Thankful for every day.
3. What is your favourite part about working for the company?
My Chair. Ok maybe not just the chair. The walls are nice too. No, not what you were looking for? Fine, I guess my favourite part about working for Pacesetter would be the people. I have had the chance to work with many different people throughout my many years and I would have to say that this is one fun bunch to spend my days with. Yes, sometimes they smell a little funky and have questionable tastes in music and neon articles of clothing, but all are small prices I am more than willing to pay to be able to be part of a team that cares for what they do and who they do it for. I have made some really great friends and look forward to coming to work every single day… except Thursdays. Thursdays can take a hike.
4. If you could choose an imaginary friend, who would you choose and why?
Another one? Sheesh. Well let’s see. There’s already Bob and Joe who watch over my imaginary farm. And then there is Janice and Betsy who keep my imaginary zoo running. Armando looks after my imaginary fleet of cars and Sheila and Marco keep my imaginary toy store in check. Edward does my imaginary accounting and Marty watches over my imaginary candy factory. There’s Shiloh, Fritz and Melinda that head up my imaginary paintball division and Pete runs my imaginary shoe museum. Hmm… I guess if I had to choose another it would be Andreas. I need someone to look after my imaginary island in the South Pacific. It’s a very special place for me and I spend a lot of time there so I need a very trustworthy friend I can count on for when I’m not there. Andreas is definitely the one I’d choose.
5. If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
Plucking the feathers from a moving Hummingbird. Many have tried but few have come close to achieving such greatness. There is a tribe in South America that spends every waking minute of the day conditioning themselves to do this. They attempt it only once in their lifetime. If they fail, they must leave the tribe in shame and lead a life of servitude and disgrace. I hope to someday make the trip there and attempt it myself. Oh wait, maybe that was my imaginary South Pacific holiday destination. Who can keep track of all of these things?
6. What vice could you never give up?
Pizza. The way it feels as it softly caresses the skin on your face. The sweet fragrance of the aged pepperoni filling your nostrils with wondrous delight. The mixture of cheeses hypnotizing you as it slowly drips to the floor. I don’t think I could ever give that up.
7. If you were to create a slogan for your life, what would it be?
Never grow up, never stop smiling, never stop having fun… Nike - just do it. Catchy, eh? ;P
Keep an eye out for another team member coming up on our blog!
